Broadcaster of the Year This individual award honors those who are ACTIVELY engaged in day-to-day broadcasting in our VAB membership. This honor is NOT limited to just ON-AIR or ON-CAMERA positions. All positions in the broadcasting field are eligible for nomination – be it management, ownership, sales, programming, engineering, production and new media services. The purpose of the award is to recognize one broadcaster in a given year for extraordinary personal and professional accomplishment in that particular year – as nominated by their peers throughout the VAB family. Each employee of any VAB-member station may submit a BRIEF narrative (250 words or less) to nominate the “Broadcaster of the Year” – but only one nominee per person is accepted. Additional letters of support may be submitted by the nominating VAB member to VAB, 500A Dalton Drive, Colchester, VT 05446 or by email at vab@vab.org. Each letter of support is also limited to one page with specific testimonial information about the nominee. Distinguished Service Award This award recognizes broadcasting professionals in specific departments for their unique contributions to the industry and to their specific area of expertise. Judges will review nominations for the most compelling stories of how these broadcast employees support their stations and the industry by demonstrated excellence in their individual positions with dedication and professionalism.
