Producer, Promotions & Commercial

The Promotions & Commercial Producer will help promote the television stations’ news, programming, and public outreach efforts, as well as assist in commercial production, local news, and special station events. The ideal candidate will be imaginative, self-motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, varied environment. Problem-solving skills and a positive attitude are critical for success. Applicants should be able to write, shoot and edit video, and have an eye for detail, composition, and graphic design. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or other non-linear editing systems required.

Work closely with Creative Services Director to conceive, write, produce, and edit compelling on-air promos and image campaigns either independently or as a team
Work with clients and the station sales team to produce effective commercials for local businesses
Work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and ensure that assigned projects are delivered on time
Assist with local news production, as assigned
Perform other related duties, as assigned
Requirements & Skills:

  • Must have ability to work daytime hours regularly and flexible hours including weekends when needed
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to provide a reel of work examples — include a web address with your resume or cover letter.
  • Knowledge and experience in After Effects and Photoshop
  • Creative writing ability

News Producer

Local 22 & Local 44 in the beautiful Champlain Valley is looking for an aggressive Morning Newscast Producer. Our shows focus on local news that really matters to our viewers. We have the tools you need to make your shows really stand out. Our stations cover VT, NY, NH and southern Quebec, so there is never a shortage of news. Work with a great group of journalists, and have a little fun too! Live and work in one of the country’s most scenic locations, just minutes away from some world-class ski resorts.

The Morning News Producer produces daily newscast items, approves scripts, writes teases and other content, times news programs, and posts video to the website. There will also be opportunities to work on special projects with the news, weather and sports teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
  • Write conversational, accurate scripts

Director of Photography

WFFF-TV (FOX44) and WVNY-TV (ABC22) in Burlington, VT, has an immediate opening for a Photographer/Director.

Three days a week this position acts as Photographer, gathering video content for our newscasts, and operating our live truck or TVU backpack.  As Director, the candidate will coordinate the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Shoot video for news reports
  • Set up, compose and execute video shots
  • Maintain video equipment
  • Edit for newscasts using Edius software
  • Operate live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations
  • Observe pictures through monitors and uses robotic cameras to adjust composition
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and production departments
  • Work with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscast
  • Switch video sources during live broadcasts
  • Test equipment to ensure proper operation

Position Summary:

The Multimedia Journalist produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report news stories for broadcast, describing the background and details of events
  • Arrange interviews with people who can provide information about stories
  • Review copy and corrects errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines
  • Review and evaluate notes taken about event aspects in order to isolate pertinent facts and details
  • Determine a story’s emphasis, length and format and organize material accordingly
  • Research and analyze background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information
  • Gather information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functions
  • Pitch stories to news managers and news producers which are relevant to the local community
  • Receive assignments and evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas

Master Control Operator

LOCAL 22 (WVNY) and LOCAL 44 (WFFF) is looking for a part time Master Control Operator.  This job is for the person that enjoys working with computers, servers and technical equipment.  You must be incredibly organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task. Responsibilities include recording and downloading content, monitoring the quality of feeds and operating master control software and equipment.  Broadcast experience or computer orientation helpful, on-site training offered. IT/Broadcast Engineer

The IT/Broadcast Engineer operates, maintains, updates and repairs hardware, software and systems used for broadcasting and business operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain the IT network, switches, data backups, work stations and printers.
  • Maintain all broadcast technology and equipment for the station.
  • Install and tests new systems and technical infrastructure for the station.
  • Minimize service interruptions at times of equipment and/or system failure by rapidly identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Set up and operate equipment and transmission links during outside broadcasts.
  • Interpret and implement instructions and requests from other station personnel.
  • Communicate with members of the engineering team and other teams to effectively resolve equipment and system issues.

Requirements & Skills:
