Host – All Things Considered – VPR

VPR seeks an experienced and enterprising journalist to become one of the leading voices in Vermont’s public media landscape. 

As host of All Things Considered, you will be responsible for producing and presenting essential daily news coverage, including newscasts, two-way interviews and issues coverage. You will also be responsible for presenting breaking news and special coverage, including press conferences, speeches and election results. 

You should be collaborative and committed to balanced on-air interviewing and news reporting. You will work closely with reporters and producers across the newsroom, including Vermont Edition and our people-powered podcast, Brave Little State.

Three years of journalism experience is preferred for this position. Strong news judgment is required.

Producer/Director – VT PBS

The Producer/Director will help develop and create content for long-format, short subject, on-air promotions, fundraising video content and other broadcast or digital productions.  This position requires someone who is self-driven, dependable, and has a history of managing multiple projects simultaneously.  The position also requires the ability to think creatively, ideate and craft stories for multiplatform distribution, be technically proficient, be flexible and adaptable, work within a team environment, with knowledge of production best practices, and possess superb communication and planning skills.

Bachelor’s Degree in Film/Television Production, Communications, Creative Media, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in television and digital video production and storytelling.

Production Technician – VT PBS

The production technician is a support role to the video production process at all stages of content creation.  They work closely with the production manager, producers, videographers, and editors to help the team complete and deliver content on time and up to standards.  Projects include, but are not limited to, broadcast programs, digital content, fundraising, and promotions.  Any candidate should be familiar with the most popular digital video formats as well as possessing an understanding of digital acquisition and delivery (web and other media).  Experience with post-production/non-linear editing is required.  A solid understanding of digital video camera use, proper handling, and technology is expected.  A basic understanding of sound acquisition, lighting, and broadcast TV systems is desirable.  

College degree preferred as well as two or more years in television, cable, agency and/or production company. Excellent attention to detail. Technical competency operating computers, video production equipment, including, but not limited to video cameras, lighting, audio and non-linear editing.
