Integrated Marketing Intern

Our Integrated Marketing Internship is for students interested in a practical experience in Broadcast & Digital marketing and/or Sales.  Learn first-hand how marketing campaigns are constructed; how to identify a client’s needs and budgets, what marketing channels make the most sense to reach a targeted audience, how to set and handle expectations, and how reporting and managing campaigns can help to make them successful.  You will work with our Marketing Consultants, Sales Managers, even the station General Manager.  You will receive feedback on your efforts.

Interns must be college/university students and receive college credit for the internships. Students are expected to obtain and complete any forms necessary to receive credit for the internship experience. The intern’s college/university academic advisor (and institution guidelines) determines the amount of credit available (and subsequently, the amount of time an intern will be available on a weekly basis).  Station department heads will oversee the internship to evaluate, monitor, and assess the intern’s progress and ensure they are receiving the proper education/training. The student is aware that this is an UN-PAID, SUPERVISED INTERNSHIP. The student is responsible for his/her own transportation.

Internships are available for qualified students studying for a business and/or communication degree.  As part of the internship, you will have an opportunity to learn about all departments at the station.

Internship Details:

  • Each internship is for up to 16 hours per week for 15 weeks
  • Will be supervised and participate in a meaningful learning experience
  • Upon completion of the internship, the student will be evaluated through a written review by the internship supervisor

News Intern

Students will have an opportunity to gain a wide range of hands-on experience while interning in the news department. Interns work closely with producers, anchors and reporters both in-house and out in the field. At the station, interns could help research and write stories. If needed, they will also contact sources for additional information.

In the field, interns will learn how the camera equipment works, what camera shots matter and how reporters gather new information to differentiate live shots. Interns may function as field producers in the sense of coordinating interviews and attending press conferences. Other opportunities exist for those who are interested in learning more about directing and producing. Interns can shadow the producers in the control room and eventually try to produce a portion of the show themselves. For those interested in on-air opportunities, anchors and reporters will help students craft a reel.

The Internship is related to an educational purpose and there is no guarantee or expectation that the activity will result in employment with the Company. The education received by the Intern from the internship is for express benefit of the Intern. The Intern does not replace or displace any employee of the Company. The Intern will receive direct and close supervision by an appropriate supervisor. This is an UNPAID Internship. The Intern is not entitled to wages or any compensation or benefits for the time spent in the internship and the intern is responsible for own transportation. Company is not liable for injury sustained or health conditions that may arise for the unpaid intern during the internship.
