Congratulations to Alice Kang on her new position as Co-Anchor of NBC5’s weeknight newscast!
Alice joined the NBC5 News team in August 2018 as the morning anchor for NBC5 News TODAY. During her time at NBC5, she helped launch the first 4:30 a.m. newscast in the market.
Alice grew up in the north shore of Chicago. A fun fact about her: English wasn’t her first language. She speaks Korean fluently. She loves traveling, experiencing new things and meeting new people. You’ll likely find her with her rescue dog, Luella, on a walk or paddle boarding on Lake Champlain.
Alice is a Boilermaker. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mass Communications and Hospitality Tourism Management. During her time in West Lafayette, she was an active member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and was involved in College Mentors for Kids.
After graduation, Alice worked in Rock Island, Illinois as a reporter. Her most memorable moment was having the opportunity to go along with a group of veterans on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
She then moved to Madison, Wisconsin as an Anchor/Reporter and helped launch the 9PM newscast.
Alice joins co-anchor Brian Colleran along with the rest of the NBC5 Weeknight news team Stewart Ledbetter, Tom Messner and Ken Drake. If you would like to congratulate Alice on her hew position, email her at Alice.Kang@hearst.com.
